Silk On Skin?

Silk is a smooth, soft and breathable material that helps to relax the skin. Wearing a silk eyemask to bed or using a silk pillowcase has became a growing trend throughout the skin community, and for good reason. But what are the benefits? Here's a few facts you may not have known..

Silk helps to prevent wrinkles. It is a soft material that helps to prevent creases and surface wrinkling around the eyes and above the brow. Win.

It has unique moisturising properties in that it helps to keep moisture close to that which it touches - in this case, your skin. So, in addition to preventing wrinkles, silk helps keep your skin stay moist at night. The tightly-woven fibres of silk keep moisture locked in to your skin and not the fabric, allowing your skincare products to continue to be absorbed whilst you sleep. Double win.

I myself have wore an eyemask to bed for years now, to the point I can't sleep at night without one! Goes on every trip I take. First night trying one, it may take a bit of getting used to, but once you do, trust me- it's such a better night's sleep had.

In addition to promoting restful sleep, silk also helps regulate your body temperature. Sleep quality is further improved by wearing an eyemask help to prevent sunlight from reaching the retina of your eyes. Our bodies naturally respond to light by activating our sleep-wake cycle, so keeping light off your eyes is important if you want a good night’s rest.

Much like the skin on your face, silk is smooth and gentle which makes it easy to use. We've added Silk Eye Masks to our webshop, so add one in with your skincare for just £8 with a further 10% off at checkout using code LUXE10.

May you sleep well!
