micro-
dermabrasion
An abrasive exfoliation technique that smoothes away dead skin cells unveiling healthy cells to the surface. Micro-wounds trigger the fibroblasts that in turn stimulate the collagen and elastin production. A fantastic treatment for pigmented or congested skin types. Oily skin can benefit from this treatment greatly as it gives a deeper pore cleanse with its abrasive and suction techniques.
Why Microdermabrasion?
Diamond-tip Microdermabrasion is a popular skin treatment as it works on both the outer layer of the skin (called the epidermis) as well as the deep layer of the skin (the dermis). It is not only an exfoliating treatment but an anti-aging treatment due to the stimulating of fibroblasts at cellular level.

What happens during treatment?
The diamond tip abrades the skin and the exfoliated particles are then vacuumed away through the same wand. The suction aspect of the treatment is as vital as the exfoliation itself, it stimulates the dermis, causing a remodelling process to occur (fibroblasts are stimulated that will then produce collagen and elastin to begin remodelling process in the skins deeper layers)
Lymphatic drainage occur occurs and removes the toxins and waste products from other cells in the body, to in turn, bring fresh blood cells and oxygen to the skins surface, resulting in a brighter glow.
Microdermabrasion triggers a wound response in the skin. As the skin repairs itself, it becomes thicker, smoother, more elastic, and looks healthier as a result. The ultimate skin exfoliation treatment if you don't want to remove vellus hair from the face and something a bit more abrasive than a hydradermabrasion. If you would like vellus hair removed, I recommend a Dermaplane treatment (this can be combined with this treatment for the ultimate skin booster)

How often do I need treatment?
Ideally a microdermabrasion treatment should be booked every 4-6 weeks to ensure the skin is maintained and collagen and elastin fibres continue to be produced strengthening the skin and its structures further.
