With a scalpel, I gently remove any dead skin cells and any vellus hair (fluffy blonde hairs) dirt and impurities from the outermost layer of your skin to stimulate fresh skin cell development. This is a manual exfoliation of the stratum corneum.

 

This is a brilliant treatment for anyone with dry/normal/oily/combination skin, for a boost to your complexion. This is not recommended for rosacea skin types, or if you are currently experiencing a bad breakout. 

 

Dead skin sits in layers and as a result can make the skin appear older than it really is. Dermaplane treatments can remove the build up of dead cells and leave you feeling fresh faced and looking much more rejuvenated. When we remove the dead skin cells it unveils the healthy new skin cells to the surface resulting in that post-dermaplane glow.

Having vellus hair on the face can be problematic for some skin types, as it traps dirt and oil close to the skin, meaning more chance of oil and bacteria building upon the skin- meaning further breakouts. The removal of this hair can help reduce acne occurrence as there is no hair for the oils to cling to.

It actually provides many of the same benefits as a light chemical peel without any down time or post treatment peeling. Many first time dermaplaners say their skin has never felt as good after a facial treatment. The treatment is also very relaxing, so do not be put off by the word "scalpel". Many clients are close to sleep during treatment!
